Based in the US but with French roots, Bertrand Bouhour is an entrepreneur and multi-cultural leader at home in the global market and a teacher of Meditation and Leadership for Business Schools and corporations.
Business Background
In conjunction with two partners over 20 years, Bertrand built and developed Systar, a publicly traded Software Product company specialized in Performance Management and Operational Intelligence. As owner and President, he has been personally involved in creating and articulating the company vision and strategy, transforming and executing it through a concrete operational road map. He built and motivated top teams in the US, in Europe and in Asia, and was responsible for closing key customer deals and strategic partnerships. When the company was sold in 2014, he joined Florent de Felcourt, a close friend, to build another startup, named Fresh Baguette. Within 6 years, Fresh Baguette has become a well-known bakery with three stores and a large wholesale business serving more than 100 coffee bars, restaurants and hotels in Washington, DC. For many years, he has also been an Advisor in Foreign Trading for the French government and is a member of YPO (Young President Organization) a unique organization that promotes experience sharing and mutual support between CEOs and Presidents.
Meditation and leadership
Since 2014, Bertrand has been an adjunct professor at the McDonough School of Business/Georgetown University in DC, where he teaches a course called “Meditation and Leadership” within the MBA program, in association with Father Laurence Freeman. As President of the Meditatio Foundation, he is also involved in teaching the same program to Executives and leaders in the Business world. As a trustee of WCCM (Worldwide Community for Christian Meditation), Bertrand is closely involved with the financing and the building of a new international Contemplative Retreat Center in Bonnevaux in France, that is projected to open in 2021.
Education and family
Bertrand holds a Masters degree of Engineering from ISEP, an MBA degree from ESSEC and an Executive Program degree for Fast Growing Companies from Stanford, CA. He has been married with Anne his wife for 30 years with 4 children Timothée, Amandine, Marie and Camille.
